Bike safety checks will be offered prior to the ride, and group leaders will take the group on a designated route leading to the Car Free Day Festival at Riverfront Park.
Car Free Day Festival: A Family Friendly Event
Sunday, Sept 22nd from 1- 4 pm
The festival at Riverfront Park (1st Street, between Monroe and Jackson) will feature food, music, games, exhibits, and a bike parade. A Bike Swap Meet, organized by the Corvallis Bicycle Collective, will provide an opportunity to donate, consign, and purchase bikes.
The goal of Car Free Day in Corvallis is to create a positive experience so community members will consider exploring transportation options on a regular basis. Organizers of Car Free Day in Corvallis are encouraging everyone to get ready for the day by deciding how they will travel on September 22nd.
Those who are planning to bicycle but havenít done so for awhile may want to consider a bike tune-up at one of Corvallisís many bicycle shops. Google Transit makes it easier than ever to plan a trip (www.google.com/transit). Those who are unable to walk or bike can still participate by sharing a ride with a friend, hiring the local pedicab, or calling Dial-a-Bus.
