Bicycle and Pedestrian Count Program

The Corvallis Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO) recently launched a Bicycle and Pedestrian Count Program. The purpose of this effort is to inform long range planning by systematically surveying the number of bicycle and pedestrian trips made at key locations in Adair Village, Corvallis, Philomath and urbanized areas of Benton County.

Data collected as part of the Count Program will help CAMPO and its partners better understand how people walking and biking travel throughout the region. This knowledge can help track usage of bicycle and pedestrian facilities (including changes in use over time), evaluate the impacts of projects after they are completed, and prioritize long-range infrastructure investment.

During the coming months the count equipment will be installed in a variety of locations throughout the region and removed when data collection is complete. As more information is collected, additional data and reports will be available on this page.
